Get Ready to Go Mad for Reading This Summer!

This summer, we’re turning up the volume on literacy with Mad for Reading — a citywide celebration of stories, imagination and community! Along with our community partners, MMSD invites families to explore exciting reading resources, activities and events designed to spark joy and strengthen literacy for all ages. Whether it’s through book giveaways, summer challenges or family storytimes, there’s something for every reader.
Let’s keep our students turning pages and building skills all summer long!
MMSD is also piloting a literacy based Summer Semester program at four community centers, where a half a day of learning and literacy and a half day of summer camp are combined all summer long! Community centers include:
- East Madison Community Center
- Bayview Foundation
- Theresa Terrace
- Northport/Packers Community Learning Center
Other community centers and summer programs are also partnering with Madison Public Library and Madison Reading Project to make sure kids in their program have access to literacy!
